Keeping the Past Present

Virtual Exhibits for Access and Preservation

This project preserves and tells the story of the Town’s and region’s history. It builds on The Depot’s commitment of “Keeping the past present”.

Early explorer and census reports indicate that over 100,000 Native Americans inhabited the Great Lakes region. From nomadic hunter-gatherer groups to agricultural areas and hunters with bow and arrow, the area has sustained a wealth of Indian history. Pottery, tools, weapons and some skeletal remains have all been found in the area, along with known Indian trails used by various migratory groups.
